Program Note
Just 6 miles from downtown Boston, the Middlesex Fells reservation spans over 2200 acres. Its rolling hills meander through deciduous and evergreen woodland, rocky outcrops and gleaming lakes. Willow Spring Path was inspired by one of my favorite trails, a frequent haunt for evening walks in the woods. I wrote this music during the onset of spring, sunlight flooding the land with new life. Moved by the simple joy of being outside more frequently—and free from the weight of winter layers—I would rush home to pen these melodies. I hope it reminds you of your own favorite walk and the unbridled optimism of springtime.
